I just finished Bitterblue which is the third book in the Graceling Realm series by Kristin Cashore. To be honest, I didn’t want to read this book because the second book in this series was very disappointing. But when I realize that this book was about Bitterblue, a character from the first book I got intrigued.
Nine years have passed since we first got to know Bitterblue and now she is a queen. At first this book was interesting, but the more I read, the more bored I got. It’s all politics and drama, some parts was just over-complicated. I still liked Bitterblue although she could be a bit annoying sometimes. I didn’t understand why Katsa and Po were being so weird..they acted like they were teenagers. The character Saf was too much! At first he seemed cool and interesting, but then he got really annoying and acted like a child!

There were so many confusing and boring parts in this book and honestly, I think that Cashore is a bad storyteller. She has an intriguing plot and an interesting story but she just can’t deliver it. There are too many boring and useless parts that are unnecessary. The ending was really unsatisfying.

A summary of the Graceling Realm series is that it’s too slow and boring for me. There isn’t enough of an adventure. Cashore isn’t a good storyteller or a good writer, in my opinion. And I probably won’t read anything she writes..just not my cup of tea.
