This book is part of my 2015 reading challenge
A couple of years ago I saw the animated movie based on this book and I loved it. I knew I had to read the book behind the movie I loved.
This book is about Sophie, the eldest of three daughters, who gets cursed by the witch of the Waste. The witch turns her into an old lady. Her only chance to break the spell is in the ever-moving castle on the hills – the Wizard Howl’s castle. Howl has a terrible reputation; he steals young girls’ hearts and eats them. Now Sophie has to handle Howl, strike a bargain with a fire demon and meet the witch that put the curse on her.
I truly loved this book. It’s unique, kind of strange, but a very enjoyable read. The characters are funny and likable. I love the energy between Howl and Sophie. All of the characters feel real and highlights the story.
I loved the animated movie, but I think I loved the book more.
