This book is part of my 2016 reading challenge!

This is the first book of the wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater and I honestly didn’t have any expectations.. I was just curious about the story because it sounded interesting and the plot was intriguing. A girl. Grace, who falls in love with a wolf who turns out to be a boy, Sam… very interesting!

The story starts out good and I get swept away but somewhere in the middle it starts to get kind of boring, nothing really happens. The best part is when you get to know Sam a little bit more and his background story of how he became a werewolf. Other than that nothing happens until the very end.

There are some scenes that are totally useless; they don’t bring much to the story at all. For example the candy shop scene and when Sam and Grace were baking a pie for some reason. I didn’t understand those parts in the book, why even have them there.

What I did like was the love story between Sam and Grace, it was refreshing that there weren’t a triangle drama or any misunderstandings between them. They were in love and they were together.

If you like YA fantasy with a good love story then this book is for you!
